The project replaced existing analog motor controllers for each of the operating Cable Car Lines. The California, Hyde, Powell and Mason Lines were each upgraded with new digital motor controllers supplied by General Electric. The main control console was also replaced in the control room at the Cable Car Barn. A new data system was installed in the control room. There was also work in seven sheave pit locations along the cable car routes. Each sheave pit was fitted with a new remote I/O panel. The civil scope of work included a new manhole at one of the sheave pit locations.
