Silverlake Reservoir Phase II Headworks

Shimmick constructed the new Headworks Reservoir West structure utilizing mass concrete batched onsite at our batch plant. The project included the importation of approximately 47,000 cubic yards of permeable base material and graded material to act as a component of reservoir subdrain system.

Shimmick was also responsible for the installation of an owner-furnished 24-inch steel cement mortar lined pipe for floor drain system  Additional scope included thermal control protocols implemented on the majority of the concrete; 89,000 cubic yards of structural concrete; installation of structural steel, including access stairs and inlet value platforms; and chlorination of the structure and hydrostatic testing for acceptance.

Shimmick erected an onsite batch plant and utilized that plant to batch all concrete utilized in the construction of the project structures. We also utilized our own Shimmick concrete boom pump for placement of over 56,000 cubic yards of concrete on the project.
